Chief Electoral Officer, Himachal Pradesh Narinder Chauhan said that the review of voters list of all assembly constituencies except Arki, Nalagarh, Doon, Renukajee and Shillai had been completed with 1st January, 2012 as qualifying date and photo electoral rolls-2012 had been finally published on 5th January, 2012. He said that there were 40, 26,272 voters in all 63 assembly constituencies in photo electoral rolls during publication of electoral draft.
He said that 1,22,715 new voters had been added in the voters list and name of 20,601 voters were deleted due to death, migration and duplicate registration etc. adding that 1,02,114 voters were increased and now there were 41,28,386 registered voters in these constituencies wherein 21,14,988 were male and 20,13,398 were female voters. He said that 14-Sulah assembly constituency had the highest number of voters numbering 84,122 whereas 21-Lahaul-Spiti had lowest number of voters which was 21,671. Chauhan said that it was for the first time that hundred percent target of issuing Voters Identity Cards was achieved.
He said that the voter’s lists were available in the offices of concerned Registration Officers (ADM/SDM), Assistant Registration Officers (Tehsildars/Naib Tehsildars) and with booth level officers. In addition to this, the electoral rolls were also available on the website and the interested persons can also obtain a CD from the office of Chief Electoral Officer by paying Rs. 100 for the same during working hours.
