Eleven houses were gutted in a devastating fire which broke out at Dharwas village in the Pangi tribal valley of Chamba. It is revealed that about 25 families lost there home and loss is calculated about 1 crore. All the belongings of the inhabitants of the village had been destroyed by the fire, the report informed.
The affected families had been evacuated to a nearby village, the report divulged, adding that a meager immediate relief of Rs 3,000 to each family had been distributed by local officials, besides two blankets to each fire sufferer.
Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal has expressed grief over the fire incident. Expressing sympathy with the families, Dhumal said that all possible help would be provided to the affected families.
Chief Minister directed the authorities to provide adequate relief as per the Relief Manual of the State Government and ensure protection of the affected families from the saviour winter conditions in the tribal area. He further directed them to extend all possible help in getting the affected families rehabilitated.
