After facing criticism from the daily commuters, finally Himachal Pradesh Bus Stand Management and Development Authority has taken steps to regulate the existing traffic arrangement and to facilitate the commuters by providing bus connectivity upto the recently constructed ISBT.
A spokesman of the Authority informed here today that the private buses plying from Upper Shimla and Kinnaur towards Ani are still operating via Lakkar Bazar in order to avoid inconvenience to the residents of the area and added that cooperation of was being sought from private bus operators and traffic police to implement amended traffic plan successfully.
He said that Control Room has been set up in the ISBT at Tutikandi and people could contact on phone No. 0177-2656326. He said that facility of Rest Room has been provided to the drivers and conductors in the ISBT. Canteen facility would be available within a week, he added.
He said that buses are plying between ISBT and old bus stand from 6 a.m. to 10.45 pm and shuttle bus service was available in an interval of every five minutes since 30th August, 2011. He said that New Shimla and ISBT have also been connected by shuttle bus service today and buses would be available on this route from 6 a.m. to 11 pm in an interval of one hour. He said that Mehli-Panthghati-Vikasnagar areas have also been connected with ISBT from 6.15 am to 10 pm in the same manner. This shuttle bus service would operate in addition to the existing fleet.
Long route buses plying on 10 routes through the town have also been expanded so that passengers could be facilitated in early morning hours. He said that buses would ply between Garu-Tutikandi via Bodhan at 8.45 a.m., Malyana-Tutikandi via Mehli-Vikasnagar-Kanlog at 8 a.m., Dhali-Tutikandi via Malyana-Mehli-Old bus stand at 8.15 a.m., Dhali-Tutikandi Via Malyana-Mehli-Vikasnagar-Kanlog at 5.45 a.m., Dhali-Tutikandi via Malyana-Mehli-Kanlog at 6.15 a.m., BCS-Tutikandi via Kanlog at 5.15 a.m., BCS-Tutikandi via old bus stand at 5.30 a.m, Panthaghati-Tutikandi via Kanlog at 5.30 a.m., Nav Bahar-Tutikandi-Sanjauli-Lakkar Bazar at 5.30 a.m. and Dhalli-Tutikandi via Malyana, Mehli-Kanlog at 7 a.m.
He said that every effort was being made to facilitate the residents of the town by providing proper connectivity to ISBT through shuttle bus service.
