State Government would consider creation of a Dev Sanskriti Preservation and Research Institute (Sanrakshan avam Shodh Sansthan), in Dev Sadan complex at Dhalpur, Kullu to exhibit and preserve traditional devotional artifacts of the local deities of the district. Chief Minister reveal it to the delegation of Devi-Devta Kardar Sangh of district Kullu, which meet him under the leadership of Gobind Thakur, MLA, to thank him for the various facilities provided to the local deities during their visit to participate in world famous International Kullu Dussehra Festival, here today.
Chief Minister said that the State Government had always welcomed the religious sentiments of the people by extending them all possible help to carry forward with their devotional services. He said that since Kullu Dussehra happened to be an unique celebration and assemblance of largest number of local deities hence the State Government had always been according high priority to the genuine demands of the kardars of the valley. He said that the State Government had constructed Dev Sadan at Dhalpur grounds originating point of the traditional Rath Yatra during Dussehra Festival where quality boarding and lodging facilities were available to the participating deities. He said that the Dussehra Festival was being organized in Kullu with traditional fervour and gaiety since centuries and participation of deities was increasing year after year. He said that as a goodwill gesture participating deities had been provided 20 percent ‘Nazarana’ during past two years consecutively. He said that additionally the Dussehra Organising Committee was providing traveling allowance of Rs. 1000 to deities participating in Dussehra Festival from Banjar and Manali area, Rs. 2,000 to deities participating from Ani area and Rs. 3,000 to others coming from Nirmand area of the district. He said that additionally boarding and lodging expenses were also borne by the organizing committee.
Dhumal said that local deities had always been the main attraction of Dussehra Festival which present a devotional look to the entire festival. He said that the Festival provided opportunity to the devotees to offer their obeisance to all the participating deities at one place during the festival. He assured the Kardar Sangh that all their genuine demands would be considered sympathetically at appropriate level. The delegation thanked the Chief Minister for according high priority to the demands of the Kardar Sangh and also apprised him of their additional demands.
