Transport Minister Mahender Singh presides over District-level Independence Day function at Bilaspur, and listed government work in his public address. He said that Rs. 88.09 crore has been spent at Changar Medium Irrigation Scheme for the district and irrigation facilities to 2350 hectare area had been provided. He said that Rs. 65 crore Kol Dam project had been sanctioned for Bilaspur district and added that Rs. 37 crore have been spent on the construction of so far. He said that one women battalion has been set up in Naina Devi area of Bilaspur district which has generated direct and indirect employment opportunities to the people of the area.
He also paid rich tributes to freedom fighters and martyrs who dedicated their lives for the cause of the country.
MLA Randhir Sharma, Ranjeet Singh, District BJP President and and senior officers were present at the occasion.
