Union Minster of State for Communication and Information Technology Sachin Pilot said the Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) will connect with the National Knowledge Network. Speaking at the concluding function to mark the 42nd foundation day of the university, Pilot said that HPU will be a part of Rs.5, 990-crore National Knowledge Network project. In which only seven institutions in the country are connected with the project.
Minister added that the aim of the project is to bring together all stakeholders from science, technology, higher education, healthcare, agriculture and governance on a common platform for advancing human development. He assures all possible help from the ministry to develop the needed infrastructure.
Pilot also unleashes his ministry ambitious plans to connect 2.5 lakh panchayats in the country with fast speed Internet facility.
