Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that State Government is committed for the speedy development of rural areas of the State and added that adequate funds are being provided to the PRIs besides many new schemes.
Jai Ram Thakur was addressing the 1st State-level conference of Zila Parishad Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen. Thakur directed the PRIs functionaries to utilize properly the funds of 13th Finance Commission for the development of the State. He also called upon the Zila Parishad Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen that the funds will be spent under MNREGA, Watershed Management Scheme, Pt. Deen Dayal Kisan Baagwan Samridhi Yojna and Doodh Ganga Yojna.
He said that State Government is priority for strengthening the PRIs in the State and added that owing to commitment of State Government to PRIs, the Conference of Zila Parishad functionaries are organized for the first time in the State. He said that 1st phase of training to PRIs had successfully been completed in the State and 2nd phase training would commence soon and necessary directions has already been given to chalk out the programme. He said that Government had also started many schemes for the development of Pnachayats and their strengthening as well.
He said that Government is also considering to open Panchayati Raj training Centre at Hamirpur and auditorium at every district headquarters. He said that the valuable suggestions emerged in the meeting would also be included in department schemes.
Earlier SKBS Negi, Principal Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj welcomed the Minister and others and detailed out the schemes being implemented by the department. The senior officers of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj were also present among others in the conference.
