Chief Minister lays foundation stone of Education Museum at Chaudhary Sarvan Kumar University of Agriculture complex at Palampur building will be constructed over an area of 645 square meters with an estimated cost of Rs. 1 crore.
Chief Minister said that the museum will go a long way in giving new dimension to the agriculture sector as the farmers will know about the latest development in agriculture for raising productivity. He said that focus would be on the rural environment and heritage and update farmers and visitors about the modern programmes and techniques in agriculture sector. It will be second museum in the University campus to be constructed with the financial assistance from Indian Agriculture Research Council.
Prof. Dhumal appreciated the contribution of the agriculture university in carrying exhaustive research and development in different wings of agriculture science. He said that the research needed to be taken to the farms so that it was beneficial to the farming community in modernizing their traditional farming practices.
Earlier, Vice Chancellor CSK University of Agriculture Dr. S.K.Sharma welcomed the Chief Minister and briefed him about the exhibits to be displayed in the Museum. He thanked Chief Minister for performing the foundation stone ceremony.
Irrigation and Public Health Minister Ravinder Singh Ravi, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister, Sarveen Chaudhary and other senior officers of the State Government and university faculties were present on the occasion.
