State Government is considering permitting plying of eco-friendly CNG and LPG fuelled vehicles with a view to check the emission of carbon dioxide gases in the environment.
Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister said that the State Government is contemplating to permit plying of CNG and LPG fuelled vehicles subject to fulfillment of all other conditions. Dhumal said that Himachal Pradesh had pioneered by move of protecting the green and serene environment of the entire Himalayan Region and banned use of recycled plastic carry bags followed by complete ban on use of plastic carry bags of different types. He said that the State had already banned green felling which had resulted into increase of green cover and valuable forest wealth had been protected. He said that such endeavours of the state had been appreciated at national and international level.
