Here comes a bad news for Private Universities in Himachal Pradesh, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has recognised only two Universities in the State. The universities recognized by UGC include the Jaypee University of Information and Technology and the Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences (SUBMS).

According to the UGC’s latest list, there are 77 registered private universities out of which nine are in Himachal, which means that the other seven Universities in the State are registered, but not reconciled.

It’s learned that the government has enacted laws to set up 11 private universities in the Himachal Pradesh.
