Food, Civil and Supplies Minister Ramesh Dhawala said that in future, addition and removal of names from Ration Cards of consumers in Shimla Municipal Corporation area would be done by the District Controller, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department.
Minister added that quota of food items for BPL card holders would be doubled from June, 2012. Now 8 Kg rice and 10 kg flour would be given in place of 4 kg rice and 5 kg flour at subsidized rate of @ Rs. 6.85 per kg and @ Rs. 5.25 kg respectively.
