The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party government today faced some harsh words from its own MLA, when he blame it for promoting illegal mining and corruption. Speaking in the support of budget proposals presented by Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, Rohru legislator Khushi Ram Balnatah criticised the government for its failure to check illegal mining in his constituency.
Balnatah alleged that the mining in the Pabbar river in Rohru area is going on unabated. At one place, a road has caved in owing to mining. He blamed that instead Public Works Department (PWD) officers are facilitating the violators. He demanded for the strict action against such officers.
