The programme for the election of a Member to the Council of States by the elected members of H.P. Legislative Assembly has been issued by the Secretary, H.P. Vidhan Sabha who is also the Returning Officer for Election to the Council of States, Himachal Pradesh.
According to the notice issued, the nomination papers could be delivered by the candidates or any of his proposers to the Returning Officer (Secretary, H.P. Vidhan Sabha) or Assistant Returning Officer (Under Secretary, H.P. Vidhan Sabha) between 11.00 am to 3.00 not later than 19th March, 2012. Nomination papers would be scrutinised on 20th March. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is 22nd March, 2012 before 3.00 pm.
The election, if necessary, would be held on 30th March, 2012 at Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Complex, Shimla between 9.00 am to 4.00 pm.
