Frequent snowfall in past few days has helped Himachal tourism to bounce back as tourists from all over the country are visiting Himachal. During the Christmas & New Year, Himachal received less tourist, but due to the snowfall in the past two weeks, the flow of tourists are increasing.
Hotels in Shimla have reported 70 per cent booking in past few days after dismal New Year. Hoteliers are surprised since Shimla only attracts tourists during the holiday season. 70 per cent occupancy is quite high for this period. It is not only Shimla Kufri, Manali, Dharamshala, Chamba are getting tourists, but heavy rains and unexpected snowfall in Kangra Valley and Dalhousie has also gained from it. Tour operators are hoping an extended tourist season as it could be further stretched till March this year.
