HPCA strongly condemns the statements of Mayor Sanjay Chauhan and Deputy Mayor Tikender Panwar regarding HPCA academy at Lalpani and its functioning.
In a press communiqué, HPCA termed it baseless and vilified campaign against cricket body by office bearers of the corporation and accused them biased and working with malafide intentions towards HPCA. Cricket body alleged that elected MC members were trying to just garner cheap publicity in the garb of raising an issue which is being investigated and in preview of the Courts.
HPCA officials raised doubts over the functioning of MC and asked what concrete development and infrastructure have they created for the benefit of the public of Shimla till date after being elected representatives to the prestigious posts MC? They alleged that the pressing problems of parking, clean drinking water, sanitation, cleanliness, street lights etc have been relegated by them, but are hell bent upon destroying a facility created for the benefit of the youth and children of the town.
The HPCA official alleged that their aim was only indulging in baseless criticism to divert the attention of local people from the real issues and problems of the corporation.
HPCA claimed that the land in question belongs to the government of HP and not the municipal corporation as alleged by the MC and claimed to complete all codal formalities by the association in this context with the Govt of HP.
Cricket Body said that it has got all necessary clearance including FCA from the central Govt authorities for the construction of the academy at Lalpani and the fees amounting to Rs 706285 paid for the same. The FCA laws clearly supersede the laws of the concerned local authority, HPCA claimed.
