Shimla – Himachal Pradesh’s Chief Minister, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, was admitted to the Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMC) in Shimla on Wednesday night, following severe stomach pain. Senior medical superintendent, Dr. Rahul Rao, has confirmed that the chief minister’s condition is stable and that he has been diagnosed with a stomach infection.
The sudden hospitalization came as a shock to many, as Sukhu was on a day-long tour to Bilaspur on Tuesday. During his visit, he presided over an event to disburse compensation to families affected by recent flood disasters. He returned to Shimla in the evening but complained of intense stomach pain later that night, prompting his admission to IGMC.
Medical experts at IGMC have conducted various tests, including an ultrasound, all of which have yielded normal results. However, the medical team is keeping the chief minister under close observation and is performing additional tests to ensure his well-being.
This isn’t the first health-related setback for Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. Approximately four months ago, he was hospitalized in Chandigarh due to high uric acid levels.
