Free medical tests of critical illness in government health institutes
Shimla: To ensure medical facility to reach needy, government health institutes in the state are providing free medicines and other products such as needles, bandages under the Mukhya Mantri Nishulk Dawai Yojna.
As many as 330 free medicines and consumables are being provided free of cost in the district hospitals and medical college and hospitals, 216 medicines in the civil hospitals and community health centers, 106 in primary health centers and 43 medicines in sub-health centers.
National Health Mission, Himachal Pradesh has made a provision of Rs. 40 crores for smooth running of this scheme. E-drug software is being run by the Government of India C-DAC Noida in all the districts.
The state government has also launched free treatment scheme under which facility of free medical tests is being provided to 11 categories in all the government health institutes. These include cancer, TB, HIV/Aids patients, medico legal cases, patients of BPL families, aged more than 60 years, all expectant mothers, all new borne, besides medical tests of done under epidemic condition, national child health programme and to the patients having more than 40 percent disability. He added that facility of maximum 56 types of basic medical tests is being provided under the scheme.
Health department spokesperson said that any person can register a complaint on toll-free number 104 in this regard.
