Transport and Food and Civil Supplies Minister GS Bali inaugurated three day long State level Boxing Competition of men at a private university at Shimla today. As many as 120 players from all the districts of the State are participating in this competition.
Speaking on the occasion, Bali said that the State Government was endeavouring to promote sports upto village level by creating infrastructure facilities. The participation of youth in sports was being ensured through Panchayat Yuva Krida Abhiyan (PYKA) and scholarships were also being given to the players. Besides, the State Government was also providing reservation in government jobs to the players and the winners of the international events were being honoured with cash incentives.
Earlier, Rajesh Bhandari, President of State Boxing Association welcomed the Minister and detailed out the activities of the Association.
