The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) has demanded removal of Governor Urmila Singh for her decision to grant sanction to prosecute former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal in a HPCA land case.
In a letter to President Pranab Mukherjee, HPCA has accused Governor for acting contrary to the law laid down by the Supreme Court. Sanjay Sharma, HPCA official, believed that the Governor granted prosecution sanction without going through complete facts and circumstance of the case.
HPCA has questioned the need of her approval. Sharma in a press conference accused Governor for misusing her constitutional powers.
Sharma called Governor as Congress agent and demanded president to remove her immediately.
Earlier, Governor had given her nod to persecute leader of opposition for his alleged involvement in HPCA land case. Dhumal has been accused of misusing his office as Chief Minister to grant approvals for allotment of lands to HPCA.
