Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today dedicated and laid foundation stones of developmental projects amounting to Rs. 21.79 crores during his one day visit to the Shimla Rural assembly constituency.
Addressing a public meeting at Dargi after laying the foundation stone of ITI, he announced government senior secondary school for Chanog and to construct science block in GSSS Dargi. He said that science classes would be started in this school along-with laboratory facility.
He also laid foundation stone of Delag-Katal road which will be constructed by spending Rs. 10 lakh and benefiting the people of Paneli, Madwan and Katal villages. The Chief Minister said that he considered the entire State as his home and always believed in equal development of all areas of the State beyond any bias or regionalism. He said that State government was giving top priority to provide better roads, education and health services to the people of the State and efforts were afoot to provide best possible facilities to the people at their door-steps.
Later, addressing a public meeting at Delag, he announced to open a health institute at Nehra and start bus service between Panohi and Shimla vai Maangoo and Karadaghat.
He said that Shimla Rural constituency was spread over a large geographical area and many parts still needed special attention in the matter of development. He was representing this constituency for the first time and efforts had been made during past one year to give pace to the development and provide as much facilities to the people. He said that various educational institutes, health institutes had been set up in the constituency and more primary and middle schools would be opened up per the requirement. The priority was being given to provide roads, drinking water and irrigation facility to the people of the constituency, he added.
Chandershekhar Sharma, President, District Block Congress thanked the Chief Minister for giving added attention for the speedy and overall development of the constituency which otherwise had remained neglected. Dharmila Harnot, Member, Zila Parishad also thanked the Chief Minister for various developmental projects for the constituency. Pramod Sharma, Member, BoD, HSIDC, T.G Negi, Advisor to the Chief Minister, Dinesh Malhotra, Deputy Commissioner were also present on the occasion.
