In a promotional initiative, the Department of Tourism & Civil Aviation, Himachal Pradesh is organizing “Photoshoot Contest” an online photography competition, in which winner winners will get two days & one night stay for two persons free in any Himachal Pradesh Tourism hotels.
Subhasish Panda, Director, Tourism said here today that the photography competition was based on four categories- Nature, Adventure, Heritage, and culture & religious tourism. The objective of the contest was to promote the tourism potential of the State, he added. He said that anyone can participate in the photo-shoot contest up till 30th September, 2013. He further said that the Department would give cash prizes for the best 1st, 2nd and 3rd photograph winner in each category. He said that the first prize would be of Rs 10,000/- (Rs ten thousand), 2nd prize would be of Rs 7000/- (Rs seven thousand) and 3rd prize would be of Rs 5000/- (Rs five thousand).
Subhasish Panda further said that besides the cash prizes the four best photo winners- one of each category would be allowed free boarding and lodging in HPTDC Hotels for two days and one night for two persons between 1st January 2014 to 31st March 2014. He said that the participant had to submit digital photographs online using the submission form on Photoshoot Contest page.
He said that the participant should submit high resolution pictures from his own photo collection and printed photographs would not be accepted for the contest. The maximum picture file size would be 5 MB.
Director said that the participants had to submit the photographs captured by them within the territory of the State of Himachal Pradesh, in colour or black and white, and must be digital photos in JPEG, GIF or PNG format. Department looks forward to receive a broad range of photos, covering various aspects of tourist interests in Himachal Pradesh, he added.
