Congress state general secretary and chairman State Planning Development and 20-Point Implementation Committee Ram Lal Thakur termed Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal’s proposal of Anandpur Sahib-Naina Devi ropeway only a publicity stunt and advised him to approach officially to the state government.
While talking to Press at Bilaspur, Thakur said that the state government had done the right thing by scrapping the project and protected the state’s interest, which was ignored by the previous BJP government while signing the agreement.
Earlier, while attending a religious congregation at the Radha Krishna temple in Kotla Kalan village, 2 km from Una city, Prakash Singh Badal had appealed to Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh to immediately resume the project “in view of its socio-religious importance for both states”. Badal said he was “even ready to bear the entire expenditure of the project, besides conceding to initiate it from Himachal Pradesh.
