A day after Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) passed a resolution criticising the state government for taking action against it on political behest, the ruling Congress hit back at the HPCA and termed it nothing more than an attempt by Anurag Thakur to hide his wrongdoings and irregularities in association.
In a press communiqué, Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC), spokesperson, Naresh Chauhan condemned HPCA’s move and accused Thakur for doing such acts to be only trying to remain in limelight.
Chauhan said that the state vigilance department has exposed Anurag Thakur and HPCA resolution was an outcome of utter frustration of him. He questioned that if the HPCA hasn’t done anything wrong, then why was Thakur worried so much. Chauhan assured that by conducting investigations into the irregularities in the HPCA, the state government was not indulging in any kind of vendetta politics, but was only trying to bring out the truth among the common people.
Congress spokesperson also take a dig at Anurag Thakur and accused him for commercializing cricket, while his father former chief minister of state Prem Kumar Dhumal had commercialized politics, he remarked.
