Preparing for the forthcoming parliamentary election scheduled for mid 2014, Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) has entrusted organisational responsibilities to its newly appointed office-bearers. HPCC president Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has assigned responsibility of all four Lok Sabha seats by making a vice-president in charge of every seat and making general secretaries in charge district wise.
A.N Vidyarthi, vice-president state Congress was given a charge of the Kangra Lok Sabha seat and will be assisted by general secretaries Harbhajan Singh Bhajji and Sunder Thakur in Kangra district while Sunil Sharma has been given responsibility of Chamba district.
Harsh Mahajan, vice-president, HPCC, has been given the charge of the Mandi parliamentary seat and Sunil Sharma was given responsibility of Kullu district, Vinod Sultanpuri in Lahaul-Spiti and Ravi Thakur, MLA in Mandi, Kinnaur and Bharmour Block.
Senior Congress leader Chander Kumar has been made in charge of Hamirpur Lok Sabha seat and senior Congress leader Ram Lal Thakur was made in charge of Una while Ajay Mahajan will take care of Bilaspur and Hamirpur district.
Sirmour Congress leader Gangu Ram Musafir was appointed in charge of the Shimla Parliamentary seat while general secretaries Ram Lal Thakur-district Shimla (rural), Harshwardhan Chauhan- Solan and Vinod Sultanpuri Sirmaur districts.
The state office-bearers have also been assigned the task of activating various frontal organisations and cells of the party and given responsibility of Mahila Congress, Youth Congress & NSUI to senior party leader Harsh Mahajan and Harshwardhan Chauhan.
Nikhil Rajour and Susheela Negi appointed in charge of Sewa Dal and INTUC. However, Kailash Prashar made in charge of Communications, Publicity, and Publications. Important media department was given to Naresh Chauhan.
Senior party state leader Kuldeep Pathania, Naresh Chauhan, Bhuvneshwar Gaur Dr. Subhash Chand Manglet, Sanjay Singh Chauhan and Deepak Sharma were appointed party spokesperson and will be responsible to highlights the achievements of the state government and making people aware of welfare schemes from which the common man could benefit.
