Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh has extended felicitations of Ramzan to all the people of State especially the Muslim brethren. He was speaking during the ‘Iftar Party’ organised near Khadi Ashram, Mall Road, Shimla last evening.
Virbhadra Singh said that the people of different religions in the State respect each other and live in fraternity. He said that many attempts had been made to disturb communal harmony in the country on community basis but the anti social elements could not succeed in their nefarious designs. He said that Muslim were the largest minority community in the State where all people belonging to different religions live in harmony.
Chief Minister said that the month of Ramzan was the pious month. He said that the Ramzan was sacred for Muslims and the month of Sawan’ for Hindus and it provide an opportunity to them to achieve goodwill by their noble acts. He said that healthy society could be flourished with love and affection amongst the communities. He said that the priority of the Government was to ensure overall development of the State.
Khwaja Khalil Ullah, former Chairman of State WAQF Board welcomed the Chief Minister and said that he was benefactor of poor and needy that why he had been blessed with coveted post of Chief Minister of the State for sixth time. He said that Shri Virbhadra Singh devoted his time for redressing the grievances of the needy and poor which was pioneering for others. He urged him to give directions to the concerned authorities to make arrangements for lodging Haj pilgrims at Himachal Bhawan or Sadan, New Delhi for 2-3 days.
Director of Minority Finance Development Corporation Mahboob Khan, Sikandar, Mushtaq Quaraishi and Murad Khan also spoke on the occasion.
Chief Parliamentary Secretary Nand Lal, Deputy Mayor, MC Shimla Tikender Singh Panwar, Vice Chairman, Himachal Pradesh State Forest Corporation Kewal Singh Pathania, Deputy Commissioner, Shimla Dinesh Malhotra, Superintendent of Police Abhishek Dullar, senior officers of the State and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
