The state BJP leaders targeted Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and blamed him for failing to protect the interest of the state during his tenure as Union minister in centre Govt.
In a joint statement BJP legislators and former cabinet minister in previous BJP led Govt Gulab Singh Thakur, Ravinder Singh Ravi and Mahender Singh, blamed Congress led government for failing on all fronts. In a statement, BJP leaders accused faulty policies of centre Govt for steep rise in the prices of essential goods. They alleged that common men were suffering for it.
BJP legislatures claimed that the state had always got a raw deal despite Virbhadra Singh’s stature in the Congress and Anand Sharma being a powerful Union Minister at centre. They accused Congress leaders for failing to get Himachal Pradesh’s rightful share from the centre. They blamed that these strong congress leaders failed to get any share in the railway budget and also failed to protect industries of state as they could not pleaded state’s case rightfully to restore the special industrial package for state.
They asked Virbhadra Singh to clear his stand over such issued before seeking votes in the Mandi by-poll. They claimed that there was no reason why the electorate of Mandi should support the Congress which had failed on all the fronts both at the Centre and state. They accused that Virbhadra Singh too had not taken any steps in the state to provide relief to the people from unemployment and price rise.
