Himachal Pradesh Congress President Thakur Sukhwinder Singh (Sukhu) has strongly condemned the violence that occurred in the Himachal Pradesh University between SFI and ABVP on Monday. Congress president said that such incidences of violence were unfortunate for academic atmosphere of the University. He said that some political organisations were hell bent on carrying on with their political agendas by resorting to violence and were spoiling the academic atmosphere of the University.
Sukhwinder Singh said that these political organisations were waiting for the new session to begin to so that they could carry on with their political agenda, but this was unfortunate as they are resorting to violence and spoiling the peaceful atmosphere of the university.
The Congress president has urged the administration to take strict action against the students responsible for such acts. Sukhu advised that SCA elections should be banned for one year in that particular campus, if such incidences of violence were reported from any educational institutions. He urged the student organisations to stay away from violence so that the peaceful atmosphere of the university could be maintained. He also asked the NSUI unit to maintain law and order in the campus of the Himachal Pradesh University so that the academic atmosphere could be restored.
