Technical Education, Transport and Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister GS Bali, during his first visit after becoming minister in new Govt, got rousing reception at Kangra and Nagrota Bagwan. Thousands of supporters and Congress workers welcomed him at many places en route from Mehatpur in Una district to his constituency of Nagrota Bagwan.
During Kangra visit, Bali announced to upgrade Kangra Government Polytechnic to an engineering college and also directed Vice-Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh Technical University, Hamirpur, and the Secretary, Technical Education to take effective steps to complete required parameters as early as possible.
To improve the daily transportation, Bali stated that a new fleet of buses would be inducted into the HRTC. He also revealed his new plan to provide security to women the HRTC as Transport department would start bus service between Dharamsala, Kangra and DRPGMC, Tanda, exclusively for women passengers between 5 pm and 10 pm regularly and the bus would be without a conductor. He also assured HRTC employees that their genuine demands would be looked into sympathetically and will be sorted out immediately.
To know the genuine grievances of people, he said that his mobile phone number would be written on all HRTC buses, technical institutions and universities and on food and consumer affair depots.
