Three times Theog MLA and BJP official candidate from Theog assembly segment Rakesh Verma started his campaign for the coming assembly election today. It was his first visit to his constituency after party nomination for the election. Thousands of party workers along with many Pradhan and Ex Pradhan welcomed him at Theog. While speaking to the party workers, Rakesh Verma stated that his association with Theog is now two decades long and thanked electorates for their support in all those years. He stated that in his public life, he had worked for the region and development of the Theog is a live example of it.
His supporters appreciated party decision to field him from Theog and assured that this time again, they will send him to Vidhan Sabha with thumping margin. In 1993 Rakesh Verma had entered in active politics on BJP ticket and had defeated Congress stalwart Vidya Stokes with the thin margin, however later in 1998 he lot to her and after that he has maintained his supremacy in the region. Though, after delimitation political calculation has changed a bit as his stronghold Balson has merged with Chopal segment for votes only, but still he is banking upon the development works initiated by him in the region and hoping to create history by electing four times, three times in row from the Theog.
