Senior Congress leader Virbhadra Singh and his wife Pratibha Singh appeared before the court and demanded for a speedy trial against the charges, which have been framed by a special judge in the infamous CD case.
Virbhadra Singh and his wife demanded for a speedy trial, whereas, the public prosecutor urged court to cancel their bail and claimed to have enough incriminating material to prove their plea. Special judge BL Soni later fixed September 12 as the next date of hearing in the case.
In the proceeding, the prosecution charges were read out as Singh and his wife were not present in the court on June 25 when charges were framed by the special judge. They have pleaded not guilty and have said that they would face the trial.
