A delegation from Pachhad assembly segment led by Chander Mohan Thakur, Chairman, HP State Cooperative Bank, met Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal and thanks him for opening a Government Degree College at Sarahan in Pachhad assembly segment of district Sirmour. Chief Minister said that Pachhad assembly segment was one of the selected few assembly segments of the State which had been sanctioned two degree colleges by BJP Government to provide higher education facilities to rural youth, especially girls, within their reach.
Chief Minister said that it was a land mark decision in favour of the land owners of district Sirmour that the ‘Sham lat’ land was returned to its owners during previous BJP regime. He said that added preference had been given to district Sirmour in terms of speedy development and maximum number of educational institutions, degree colleges, polytechnics etc. had been opened during BJP regime. He said that Degree College had also been announced for Rajgarh during previous BJP regime of 1998-2003 which was de-notified by the Congress Government. He said that on coming to power the same was made functional. He said that additionally one more degree college had been sanctioned for Sarahan so that youth completing their schooling were provided higher education facilities locally. He said that another degree college had been opened at Haripurdhar. He said that the State Government had also opened Eternal University in private sector at Baru Sahib where Medical College had also been sanctioned. He said that one polytechnic college had also been opened in Paonta Sahib to provide vocational education to the youth.
Prof. Dhumal said that the State Government had fulfilled the promise of opening Sub-Divisional Magistrate office for Renuka assembly segment of district Sirmour at Sangrah and by making the same functional. He said that one IRB had also been established at Kolar in Paonta Sub-Division of district Sirmour where training of police personnel was in progress. He said that it was during previous regime of BJP that one ITI was opened at Rajgarh. He reiterated the resolve of the State Government to bring district Sirmour at par with other developed districts and the objective behind opening higher learning educational institutions had been to increase literacy rate in the district, especially in the rural areas. He assured the delegation that their interests were safe in the hands of BJP government and appealed for their continuous support.
Chander Mohan Thakur, Chairman, HP State Cooperative Bank, thanked the Chief Minister for his deep concern towards the development and other welfare requirements of the district. He detailed the developmental milestones established during BJP regime in the district. He said that people of Pachhad segment were deeply indebted for the second degree college announced for Sarahan. Dr. Rajiv Bindal, former Minister and General Secretary, State BJP, other prominent leaders from district Sirmour were present on the occasion.
