Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal announced that Government Degree College, Lad Bhadol in Mandi district would be started from this academic session in order to provide higher educational facilities to students of the area at their door steps. He said that 108 ambulance toll free service would also be provided under Atal Swasthya Sewa Yojna at Lad Bhadol so that people could get medical facilities within no time.
Chief Minister announces it in a public meeting at Government Senior Secondary School Lad Bhadol after he inaugurated building of Community Health Centre at Lad Bhadol constructed at a cost of Rs. 1.20 crore. This new building would have air conditioned operation theatre, labour room and 30 bedded facilities. He also performed foundation stone laying ceremony of Science Block of Government Senior Secondary School, Lad Bhadol to be constructed a cost of Rs. 68 lakh.
Prof. Dhumal said that politics and power for BJP Government was solely service of common man. He said that Himachal Pradesh has been conferred 67 awards by National and International agencies and also Government of India for doing good work. He said that Asian Development Bank and World Bank had also appreciated Himachal Pradesh for speedy and overall development and betterment of people. He said that credit goes to sincere efforts of officials besides hard working people of the State. He said that it was matter of pride that Himachal Pradesh was achieving first position since last three years in implementation of 20 point programmes in comparison of big states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh etc.
Chief Minister said that Government had accorded top priority to road, health and education sector besides creating self employment opportunities to the youth of the State. He said that per capita income which was Rs.43,000 in 2008 has now reached at Rs. 73,000. He said that support price of apple and mango had also been increased to Rs. 6 per kg. He said that Government had provided higher education facilities in the State without any discrimination as ESI Medical College and Hospital and IIT at Mandi, Central University in Kangra district and Technical University in Hamirpur, Engineering College in Shimla district and polytechnics had been opened in the State. He said that balanced development had been ensured in the State irrespective of region and religion.
Prof. Dhumal said that free denture was being made available to senior citizens of the State under Muskan Scheme. He said that free medical check up of students was being done in the schools under ‘Mukhyamantri Vidyarathi Swasthya Programme. Gulab Singh Thakur, Public Works Minister welcomed the Chief Minister and thanked him for opening Degree College at Lad Bhadol. He said that 10 years back, people used to visit Lad Bhadol via Baijnath and now Lad Bhadol has been connected within Jogindernagar with as many as six roads. He said that previously Sub Tehsil and then Tehsil status had been provided to Lad Bhadol and now various offices of different departments had been opened here. He said that in order to solve the drinking water problem of Lad Bhadol in future water scheme was being constructed by lifting water from Binva river.
