In a democratic set-up, until and unless people are not aware of their rights and duties, the menace of corruption can not be eradicated from the society. Manish Sisodia, member of Team Anna said it in Manali. He added that Team Anna will start crusade and awareness campaigns at village levels to educate the people and call upon them note to vote and elect those politicians who are corrupt and facing charges of corruption. The Team Anna will also eye on the moveable and immoveable properties of those politicians who have amassed massive wealth through illegal means.
Sisodia also expressed his displeasure over Manali (which is considered among top tourist destinations in India) and said that beautiful City has been virtually converted into a jungle of concrete at the heavy cost of environment. He said that due to mass tourism and ill-planning, the entire eco-system has been disturbed. The fertile land has been diverted for the development of tourism, pollution has increased manifold due to deforestation and decrease in green area.
He also lamented on the pathetic condition of the roads, drainage, sewerage, solid waste management system and erratic traffic management. Sissodia lambasted on the administration and politicians and said that it is need of the hour that there should be some mechanism for the participation of the locals in the management for ensuring in the decision making process. The nexus of different government agencies could be busted and sustained development of the valley gets momentum.
