The Indora police took three persons, including brother of Des Raj, BJP MLA from Gangth, who was a salesman at the Civil Supplies Depot at Dah village, into custody after they were caught carrying civil supplies material to Punjab.
SDPO, Nurpur, Rajender Kumar Jaswal said on Monday some youths of Dah village, falling under Indora police station, stopped a pick-up vehicle (PB 06 H 8682) and found more than 7 quintals of wheat, 16 quintals of flour and 1 quintal of rice meant for ration holders of Dah village being transported to Punjab.
DSP Jaswal said the youths informed the police which reached the spot and impounded the vehicle. He said the driver of the vehicle was identified as Ashok Kumar of Nangalbhur, Pathankot, Punjab, the third person as Ashwani Kumar also of Nangalbhur and the salesman as Tara Chand. A case under Sections 3 and 7, Essential Commodities Act, was registered against them.
