A Tibetan youth’s Dawa Dhondup (30) tried to self immolate on Sunday at Dharamsala town. Hundreds of Tibetan were gathered at Dharamsala for a protest rally to mark the 54th anniversary of Tibetan National Uprising Day called by various Tibetan organisations, including the Tibetan Youth Congress. Police said that Dhondup was marching with hundreds of other Tibetan and near the police ground Dharamsala; he consumed and poured gasoline over himself. However, he was subsequently overpowered by police personal and was immediately rushed to the local hospital. After first aid at civil hospital Dharamsala, he was referred to Dr. Rajendera Prasad Medical College, Tanda.
