Himalaya Sahitya, Sanskriti Avam Paryavarn Manch proposes to organize a writer’s ensemble ‘The creativity of Hills’ on 20th October, 2011 at 2.30 PM in Rotary Town Hall, the Mall, Shimla. This, especially, highlight the release of a short story collections titled “Katha Mein Pahaad” edited by a senior poet & critic Shriniwas Shreekant & published by a popular publisher of Meerut Samvad Prakashan. The function will be presided over by Dr. Vijay Mohan Singh, a renowned Hindi critic and a story writer coming over to attend the programme presently from Delhi where he is associated with the contemporary Hindi literature trends. Kumar Krishan, a poet & critic underline the merits and literary value of the said compilation whereas Hindi critic Dr. Hem Raj Kaushik will present a brief introduction of the Book. This was disclosed by S.R.Harnot, an eminent writer and Chairman of the Manch.
He further informed that the compilation incorporates the stories of prominent and contemporary Hindi writers of Himalayan stretch extending from Kumaon in Utranchal to J&K in the north-west including Himachal Pradesh. The writers included in this, are namely Yashpal, Shailesh Matiyani, Manohar Shayam Joshi, Shekhar Joshi, Vidya Sagar
Nautial etc. along with eleven writers from this State.
S.R.Harnot told that most of the stories reflect socio, culture and anthropology of the mid and interior hilly areas, some of them also include the eco-environmental aspects of the Himalayan Hills which have suffered starvation of material resources by way of profiteers from outside the hill states and urbanization by the new generation of people besides the erratic behaviors of those not respecting the sanctity of the nature.
