Ramesh Dhawala, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister unfurled the National flag at District level Independence Day celebrations at the historic Chaugan at Nahan in Sirmaur district today. During the occasion contingents of home guards, NCC, NSS and scout guides presents the impressive March Past.
He said that at present essential commodities were being provided under various schemes to 16, 31, 804 Ration Card holders in the state. He said that essential commodities were being provided 213243 Ration Card holders in Sirmaur district. He added that stringent measures were being adopted to check the use of fake ration cards in the State. Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sukh Ram Chaudhary, Shyama Sharma, Ex Minister, Baldev Tomar, District BJP President, prominent people and senior officers of the district were present on the occasion.
Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Sarveen Chaudhary preside over the District-level Independence Day function at Solan and said that 10438 eligible persons were being provided social security pension in district Solan and Rs. 12.63 crore were spent on the same during last three years. She said that 1688 new cases were added during the tenure of present Government in the district. She said that Mukhyamantri Adarsh Gram Yojna had been started for integrated development of the villages with Scheduled castes population above 40 percent. She said that basic facilities would be developed in 136 such villages.
