Awah Devi Temple complex will be developed as highest prominent religious tourist destination in district Hamirpur by creating basic infrastructural facilities. Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal declares it while addressing a large assembly of devotees at the Awah Devi Temple complex after he took first hand account of the ongoing beautification project work in the shrine. Chief Minister said that Rs. 57 lakhs were being spent over beautification of the complex and creation of more space to facilitate organization of various devotional services in the complex area. He said that highest of the three tomb would be of 63 feet height and would be decorated with lights so that the same was visible from far distances. He said that the new complex would also facilitate organization of ‘Bhagwat’ and other similar religious discourses. He appealed to the people to come forward with generous donations so that the complex could come up as a beautiful destination in the area.
Prof. Dhumal said that preservation and conservation of the rich cultural heritage was the resolve of the government and all out efforts were being made to achieve the objective by creating quality infrastructure of basic amenities to the visitors. He said that all temples, Mosques, Gurudwaras and Churches were being protected to honour the religious sentiments of the devotees. He said that world’s tallest statue of Lord Hanuman, 108 feet high, at the height of about 8,000 feet had been installed at Jakhu which was visible from far distant areas to facilitate devotees pay their obeisance to the deity from any place they were able to see Lord Hanuman. He said that horse riding statue of Maharani Jhansi Ki Rani had also been erected at Rani Jhansi Park in capital town and both the places had emerged prominent destination to the visitors. Chief Minister directed the authorities to complete the beautification and restoration of the temple complex on priority.
