The Himachal Pradesh High Court pulled up the Longjian Road and Bridge Ltd for delay and slow progress of work of widening of Theog-Hatkoti-Rohru Road. Apple season is approaching and still road’s condition is deplorable and can repeat previous years condition, where thousands of apple boxes rotten on the side of the road.
A Division Bench consisting of Chief Justice Kurian Joseph and Justice Sanjay Karol directed the Chinese company to file an affidavit within 2 days, mentioning the cases where land acquisition proceedings have been initiated but not completed, where public/private buildings have not surrendered the vacant possession to the company, tree felling has not been undertaken and also to state who are the officers responsible for respective areas of roadblocks in road construction. The court has directed the company to furnish a list of cases by May 23. The court also directed the Land Acquisition Collector for construction of road to be present before court along with records on May 23. Hon’ble court was hearing the petition filed by Davinder Chauhan Jaita.
