Shimla: SJVN has achieved a major milestone in power generation, producing 13,302 million units (MU) of electricity during the financial year 2025–26, marking one of its strongest annual performances to date.

Chairman and Managing Director Bhupender Gupta said the company’s operational power stations have delivered consistent results, setting new benchmarks and strengthening its contribution to the country’s energy sector.

The 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station recorded 7,506.617 million units of generation, its second-highest annual output since commissioning. The project also crossed a historic milestone of 150 billion units of cumulative power generation in March 2026.

The 412 MW Rampur Hydro Power Station registered its highest-ever annual generation of 2,108.034 million units, surpassing the 2,100 million units mark for the first time in its 11-year operational history.

The 60 MW Naitwar Mori Hydro Power Station generated 310.37 million units in FY 2025–26, exceeding its design energy by 17 per cent. In the solar segment, the 1000 MW Bikaner Solar Power Station achieved a significant milestone by generating one billion units of electricity on March 19, 2026.

Gupta credited the achievement to the dedication of employees and acknowledged the continued support of the Government of India, the Ministry of Power, and the state governments where the projects are located. He said the company has maintained steady growth since commissioning its first project while meeting the nation’s increasing energy demand.

Director (Personnel) Ajay Kumar Sharma said the performance reflects the commitment of employees and highlighted that SJVN’s projects have contributed to socio-economic development, particularly in areas surrounding project sites.

Director (Finance) Parthajit De added that the results underline the company’s strong operational capabilities and its growing role in India’s energy landscape.
