Students can get up to 60% scholarship per semester; continuation subject to maintaining minimum 7 CGPA

Shimla – Bahra University has introduced a scholarship programme through the BUSET (Bahra University Scholarship Entrance Test) to support meritorious students seeking admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

The BUSET examination allows students to secure scholarships based on their performance in the test. University officials said students can receive up to 60 percent scholarship per semester, depending on their score in the BUSET paper. The financial support is aimed at reducing the cost of higher education for deserving candidates.

According to the university, the scholarship can be continued in subsequent semesters if students maintain a minimum 7 CGPA in each semester. This condition has been introduced to encourage consistent academic performance throughout the course.

The BUSET examination is conducted online and is designed to assess candidates on areas such as logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude and general awareness. The scholarship scheme is applicable to students applying for various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes offered by the university.

Officials said the BUSET initiative is part of the university’s broader effort to make quality education accessible to a larger number of students. Apart from BUSET, Bahra University has already implemented several scholarship programmes based on merit as well as financial need. These schemes provide financial assistance to deserving students, including those with strong academic records and those from economically weaker backgrounds.

Speaking about the initiative, Gurinder Bahra, Vice-Chairman of the Rayat Bahra Group, said the institution aims to empower young people through quality education while preserving cultural values.

“Himachal Pradesh has always been a land of knowledge and values. At Bahra University, our vision is to empower the youth of the hills and the nation with world-class education, innovation and global exposure, while keeping them rooted in the culture and ethos of this beautiful nation and the region,” he said.

University authorities said the scholarship programme is expected to benefit students from different parts of the country, particularly those looking for financial support to pursue higher education in professional and academic fields.
