The Himachal Pradesh High Court directs the Himachal Pradesh University to rework the answer sheets of the Combined Pre Medical Entrance Test (CPMT) for admission to MBBS and BDS courses for the current academic year on the basis of new key answers.
The directions are issued by the division bench of HC, consisting of Chief Justice Kurian Joseph and Justice V K Sharma on the writ petitions filed by the candidates appearing in the PMT Exams.
The prospectus of the CPMT exam has provided for the publication of key answers and also afforded an opportunity to the candidates to submit their objections, which they were scrutinised by an appropriate body in the university.
The candidates had objected that certain questions were out of syllabus, multiple answers were possible for certain questions, certain questions were fully wrong while some were wrongly deleted. The writ petitioners approached the high court in view of the alleged wrong stand taken by the university on some of the issues. All the disputes were referred to a Special Moderation Committee consisting of experts. The Court also directed the University to reject the answer sheets of the candidates, who have violated the instructions in the OMR marks sheet/ answer sheet. In another similar matter, the
Court also directed to clarify validity of use of correction fluid in the answer sheet.
