Union Minister of State for Railways K.H. Muniappa flagged off the Ambala-Una-Amb Andora DMU rail services from Amb Andora railway station in Una district. He also formally dedicated the Churdu-Takarla to Amb Andora railway section to the people. Member of Parliament Hamirpur Constituency Anurag Thakur and MLA Rakesh Kalia, were special guests on the occasion.
Addressing a huge gathering on the occasion K.H. Muniappa said that 15 km long, fourth block section under Nangal Dam-Una-Talwara railway line, Amb Andora to Daulatpur Chowk will be completed by December, 2012. Muniappa also assured to enhance the budget provision for completing Una-Talwara railway line, starting reservation facilities in Amb and extending the facility in Una upto 5 pm, announced Rs. 40 lacs for construction of shed in Amb railway station, waiting room and canteen facilities. He also directed the officers to take necessary action regarding extension of the trains starting from Una to Amb Andora station. He said that all the announcements will be implemented within six months.
