MP Anurag Thakur inaugurates the fashion show in which traditional Himachali apparel combined with folk music of different parts of the State presents in Shimla. The show was organised by Saksham Relations in association with the Boiling Ice Media and Global Human Rights Division (GHRD), and sponsored by Himachal Pradesh State AIDS Control Society and Department of Language Art and Culture with Day and Night Media. The event was dedicated to women empowerment particularly to save the Girl Child and spread the message of Beti Hai Anmol Yojna of the State Government and conserves the serene environment of the Himachal Pradesh.
This was the first of its kind event by the organisers to incorporate glamour with cultural tradition of the State. Felicitating the Boiling Ice Media and Saksham Relations to organise this event, Thakur stressed the need of spreading the motive behind this show and protect the girl child. Ms Bhawana Gawali, MP, Kalikeshnarayan Deo MP, Rahul Karat, Founder and Dean of Maharashtra Institute of Techonolgy, Sh, Pradeep Chaudhry, International Human Right Activist, Sanjana George, the famous Fashion Designer, were also present on the occasion. Renowned Model and Actress Udita Goswami mesmerised the audience with her catwalk on the concluding Traditional Indian Saree round. Participants from Himachal received loud applause for their fusion round and Salsa performed by the budding dancers Isha and Hitesh the local lads from Shimla.
