The State Election Commission has issued bye-election schedule for filling up of 232 vacant posts of Panchayati Raj Institutions in the State.
As per the notification, bye-election would be held in ward 1 of Zila Parishad, Kangra and ward 1 of Zila Parishad, Kinnaur. In addition to this, bye- election of 13 posts of Members of Panchayat Samiti, 32 posts of Pradhan, 24 posts of Up Pradhan and 160 posts of Members of Gram Panchayat would also be held.
The candidates can submit their nomination papers on 13th, 14th and 15 November, 2014 from 11 AM to 3 PM and nomination papers would be scrutinized on 17 November, 2014 and the last date of withdrawal of candidature has been fixed for 19th November, 2014 upto 3 pm.
The voting would be held on 30th November, 2014 from 7 am to 3 pm and counting of votes for Pradhan, Up Pradhan and Members of Gram Panchayats would be held on the same day at concerned headquarter of Gram Panchayat after voting is over.
The results would be declared immediately after the counting.
Counting of votes for the Members of Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samitis would be held on 1st December, 2014 at concerned headquarters of Development Blocks and results would be declared thereafter.
The Commission has also issued notification of bye-election of vacant post of ward No. 6 of Nagar Panchayat Sarkaghat in district Mandi. As per the notification, the candidates could submit their nomination papers on 10th, 11th and 12th November, 2014 from 11 am to 3 pm and the nomination papers would be scrutinized on 13th November, 2014.
The last date for withdrawal of nomination papers would be 15th November, 2014 upto 3 pm and voting would be held on 30th November, 2014 between 7 am to 3 pm and result would be declared on the same day.
With the declaration of notification of bye-elections, Model Code of Conduct has been enforced with immediate effect in concerned areas of Panchayati Raj Institutions where bye-election would be held.
