Taking into cognizance the endeavours of Himachal Pradesh in implementing various development policies in the right perspective, Planning Commission of India had adopted liberal attitude in providing adequate financial assistance to the State for carrying out development activities to benefit the common man.
Dr. Saumitra Chaudhuri, Member, Planning Commission, Government of India said this while presiding over the review meeting of flagship programmes and annual plan 2012-13, here today.
He said that the State had performed well in various sectors like agriculture and allied sectors, health etc. and had successfully implemented the Centrally Sponsored schemes. He said that under Rural Health Mission Programme State had accomplished 86 per cent financial target till December, 2012.
He said that under Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) the State has achieved more than 100 per cent financial achievement. The State had also performed well under National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana, Rastriya Krishi Vikas Yojana, National Social Assistance Programme etc.
Dr. Chaudhuri hoped that the State would achieve the targets fixed well in time under various Central sponsored schemes.
Sudripta Rai, Chief Secretary briefed about on-going schemes sponsored by Government of India. He assured the Commission that the State would implement these schemes in an efficient manner and concerted efforts would be made to achieve the targets.
Advisor, Planning Commission, Government of India, Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Head of the Departments and other senior officers of the State government were present in the meeting.
