Minister for Transport, Food and Civil Supplies and Technical Education GS Bali announced to launch a new scheme, own your own vehicle, shortly for the unemployed youth in the state.
Minister said that under this scheme, which was being formulated by the Department of Transport, the government would allow the unemployed youth in rural areas to own and operate vehicles in their respective areas. He believed that this scheme would provide self-employment opportunities to unemployed youth.
He said that operating buses at many rural routes in the state were unviable and with schemes like ‘own your own vehicle’ will help to give better transport option and will also help to create new opportunity for unemployed youth.
GS Bali, who is also holding Ministry of Technical Education, announced that department is mulling a proposal to start technical education in schools from Class VIII. Students who opt for technical education after Class VIII can be given admission directly in the second year of diploma courses after they complete 10+2.
