A Spokesman of State Government said here today that Youth Services & Sports Department and State Aids Control Society were organizing Half Marathon on the occasion of International Youth Day on 12th August, 2012.
MP and president BJYM Anurag Thakur would flag off the Marathon at 11:00 AM at the Ridge Maidan, Shimla. Registration of participants will be done on 11th August, 2012 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM in Indira Gandhi State Sports Complex, Shimla.
It will be a 5 Km. long race and any Boy and Girl below 17 years can participate in it. Athletes need to bring age proof certificate with them. A case prize of Rs. 20,000 would be given to the winners of Men and Women in 21 Km. category and cash prize of Rs. 5,000 to the winners of Junior Boys and Girls in 5 Km. category.
