New Delhi: Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Speaker Brij Bihari Lal Butail today asked Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi to approve the proposal of the State for establishing National e-Vidhan Academy at Tapowan (Dharamshala) Vidhan Sabha Complex.
Butail raised this demand while the e-governance committee of the State Assembly met Naqvi at New Delhi. He apprised the Union Minister that Himachal Pradesh had two assembly complexes one at Shimla and another at Tapowan. At present only winter session was being held at Tapovan and for the remaining time it was not being utilized and therefore, National e-vidhan Sabha Academy could be set up there for which the proposal had already been sent to the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs.
Vidhan Sabha speaker said the training would be imparted regarding e-vidhan Sabha system to the Members of Parliament, MLAs and officers of Vidhan Sabha.
Naqvi said that the proposal of the State Government had already been given approval in principle and process would be soon started to formulate the conditions of the MoU.
The Union Minister said the entire project would be financed by the Government of India.
The Committee also gave presentation about the e-vidhan Sabha system in Himachal Pradesh which was well appreciated.
The members of the committee former Speaker Gulab Singh Thakur and former Deputy Speaker R.R. Kaundal were also present on the occasion.
