To make the Queen of the Hills more eye-catching, the Shimla administration has decided to re-build the historic Combermere Bridge with traditional architect.
The Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said the State Government was encouraging the tourism activities in the State particularly the heritage towns like Shimla, and with the financial assistance of Asian Development Bank (ADB) various projects has been proposed for beautification of the town.
Earlier, Virbhadra Singh inaugurated first LED video wall constructed at a cost of Rs. 67 lakh under the financial assistance of ADB at Indira Gandhi Khel Parisar, Shimla here today.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister said that more such walls would be set up at major tourist spots in the town like Scandal Point and Rotary building etc.
He said that tourism related activities, useful information about various tourist destinations in the State besides live telecast would be the main attraction to the tourists.
Ayurveda Minister Karan Singh, MLA Sanjay Rattan, Vice-Chairman, HPTDC Harish Janaratha, Additional Chief Secretaries V.C. Pharka, Tarun Shridhar and Narender Chauhan, Secretary, Urban Development Onkar Sharma, Commissioner, Tourism Mohan Chauhan, Director, Information and Public Relations Dr. M.P. Sood, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Shimla Pankaj Rai and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
